MCS Vision System Now Reads Intelligent Mail (TM) Barcodes

Perfect Match Uses IMB For Tracking/Sorting/Quality Control & Inkjet Printing
Atlantic City, Mailcom 2008- MCS, Inc., a leader in industrial and mailing inkjet technology and camera systems, announces Perfect Match Version 4.0. The Perfect Match has long been a leader in camera matching system technology for mailers - and now the system expands its versatility and value by offering compatibility with the USPS IMB code - along with new software capabilities.

It is now possible to use the MCS Perfect Match (TM) System and the IMB, with unique embedded piece IDs to:

  • Track and Report progress of mailing jobs
  • Produce audit logs for 100% mailings
  • Drive Read and Print inkjet applications such as Trans-Promo messages on window envelopes
  • Trigger sort breaks
  • Provide input to statistical quality control systems
  • Enable match mailings.

The postal regulations for the new IMB code allow mailers to embed a unique six or nine digit number into the barcode of every mail pieces. This number is used only for the mail shops' internal purposes and does not have to be used for the postal system. Now the MCS Perfect Match (TM) System can provide viable production efficiencies and revenue possibilities for every mail job!

The President of MCS, Dave Loos, commented: "For the first time in postal history, mail shops will be able to have a machine-readable code without needing permission from the customer"! Dave continued, "This gives the opportunity for tremendous production streamlining in the mail production process - as well as the possibility for value-added services".

MCS made its Array inkjet equipment IMB-enabled in September, 2006, and now adds the functionality to MCS Perfect Match (TM) 4.0 so that mailers can utilize IMB technology to increase their own production and profit margins.
